WestArk RSVP is a proactive volunteer clearinghoue that recruits and connects active adults 55 years of age and over with a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the community. Direct services to the community are provided through RSVP Community Outreach.

Volunteer options include:
1. Tutoring elementary school students.
2. Providing help to low-income people.
3. Addressing community needs.
4. Supporting local historical and arts organization.

Who Are Our Volunteers?

The 800 men and women 55 years of age and over that come through RSVP's doors each year represent a cross-section of western Arkansas' diverse communities. They are people like you who have a little more time and a lot more experience to give - and the energy and passion to make a difference.

Where Do Our Volunteers Serve?

Our partners range from volunteer run charities such as the Children's Service League (which clothes needy Ft. Smith school children) and the Summitt Medical Center Auxillary in Van Buren to organization's such as the Helping Hands in Bentonville and the Madison County Senior Activity Center in Huntsville.  Our cadres of community volunteers serve as volunteers in schools, community centers, hospitals, museums - nearly 100 community organizations!

Why Do WestArk RSVP Volunteers Get Involved?

Many WestArk RSVP volunteers have lived in their communities for a long time. Because the community has given them so much, they see serving as a way to give something back. WestArk RSVP volunteers discover that when they give, they gain a lot too. Studies show that seniors who volunteer live longer, healthier and more fulfilling lives.

What Do WestArk RSVP Volunteers Do?

WestArk RSVP volunteers choose how and where they want to serve. Many continue the type of work they enjoyed earlier in life, while others try something completely different. As an RSVP volunteer you might build a house, prepare a tax return for a single mom, apply for Medicare Extra Help for a retiree with a modest income.
