We train tutors in special workshops to use a variety of methods and materials for teaching basic reading and English as a Second Language. You do not need to know the student's language to teach ESL.

Once trained, Literacy Council of Benton County will match you with a student according to your schedule. We supply all the materials you will need and are always available to answer your questions.

You will find the training sessions are informal and fun while teaching you the most up to date tutoring methods.

Tutor trainers at LCBC are certified by ProLiteracy America.After you complete your tutor training you will receive tutor certification from ProLiteracy America.

We ask you to spend some time before your training session reading some on-line short courses, and after training, we will have you observe one hour of a tutoring session at a time that fits your schedule.
